HURUNUI RABBIT BOARD.
A meeting of the Hiirunui Rabbit Board Trustees was hejcl .at Culverdon on 'Saturday, there being present: Messrs T. C. Robinson (in the chair), W. W, Mcßae, W. J. McMillan. G. 0. Rutherford, and J. Munro. In regard to the difficulty "yliir-h has cropped' no about the Horsley Downs section, on* which it was intended to put a cottage for a caretaker inspector, it was decided to place the whole matter before the Minister of Agriculture, soliciting his support. In answer to a letter from iho Direc-tor-General of Agriculture, it was resolved that a copy of an advertisement regarding the purchase of cat skins, apjMjaring in the local papers, be forwarded to him. The Chief Inspector's and the two Assistant Inspectors' reports were read, and it was resolved that authority be given to.the Chief Inspector to prosecute five owners who were alleged to have neglected to carry cut satisfactory work. A complaint having been received on the had state of a reserve in the Board's district, it was decided to write to the authorities to have poisoning work carried out within 14 days. In accordance with *v promise made to the Cheviot Farmers' Union, Mr G. O. Rutherford reported on an inspection of a r>ortion of the old Cheviot fence, and it was resolved that the trustees are quite prepared to take oyer this fence provided that the adjoining owners will put it in order and vest it in the Board, who will then maintain it. A letter from Dr. Reakes, addressed to*the chairman, regarding his recent visit ro the district was read, and it was decided to notify him that- th-Boai-d is prepared to fall in with hi views and "arrange a conference at Cul verden as suggested by him.
