LONDON, December 3. Many have been injured in a disaster in a coal pit in Sheffield. The scene of the accident was the Nunnery Colliery.

A train of 20 tubs, each containing about four men, was being drawn up aa inclined road from the pit bottom, when the rope snapped and the train dashed back at a terrific speed for several hundreds of yards. Tuba and passengers were hurled together into a piled mass. Rescue work is proceeding in the presence of .a great crowd. The number of dead is still unknown. Six mutilated and unrecognisable bodies have been recovered, and a dozen injured men have been sent to hospital. RESCUE WORK OYER. OVER FORTY CASUALTIES. (red-tee's telsgkams.) Rescuo work has been completed, and all the bodies have bc:n recovered except two that were laterally cut in half. The final list of casualties is sovon killed and 3G injured.
