LONDON, December '2.
Henry Purkis3 and his wife, both members of a sect known as "Peculiar People," were committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter of their three-year-old son by neglecting to provide proper medical aid. It was stated that the child died from laryngeal diphtheria, and if an anti-toxin injection had been given its life would have been saved.
The parents, -who deposed that they had not secured a doctor because it was against their faith, called in ifcwo eiders of the sect to lay hands on and anoint and pray for the child.
