TOURIST TRAFFIC.

INVEECARGILL, December 3. - According to advicd received by thp. local Tourist Office, this season will be a record one so far as tourist traffic to the Southern Wonderland isconcerned. There, are extensive bookings for Queenstown, far in advance of any previous years, while at Stewart Island accommodation is fully booked up for months ahead. 0 The To Anau-Milford Sound trip, described as the finest walk in the world, promises to see an exceptionally large number travel over it. A large plarty from the Tararua Tramping Club* will make a trip to the Sound, and parties from "Wellington, and Christchureh have also arranged to make the journdy. An encouriyjing feature is the large number of enquiries from abroad, pointing to a big-.infiux of American and British tourists early in •the New Year.
