ADDINGTON BURGESSES.
» * - The Addington Burgesses' Association held a social in the Dickens Btreet Hall on Saturday night, each member being privileged to bring a friend. The eaxly part of the evening woe devoted to cards, members of the Association playing the visitors, and winning by 42 game® to 35. A programme of vocal and instrumental items was then given, those contributing being Messrs F. Cooper, W. Dumpleton, F. McGill W. Stewart, -F. Mathieson, W. Pickoring, and J. Falkinder. Mr D. Brown, in proposing the health of the Burgesses' Association, conveyed the thanks of the visitors for the pleasant evening they had spent. Tho secretary, Mr E. Parlane, in responding, outlined the work done by the Association since its inception, and said that the Association iisd never bfic& ft mors prospfirom
