MEETING AT FENDALTON. Another meeting of the series being held throughout) the outer areas of Christchurch in connexion with the Drainage Board's proposal to raise a loaai or £iuo,uul) to extend the .Board's sewerage system to serve tjie outerareas, was heid in the Fendaltoa Ciiurch scliooiruom last night. Air J. lioyds presiaed over a fair attendance. The chairman of the Board, Mr VV. Hill, explained the proposals, and outlined tne scheme wnereby the Board had planned to raise the necessary sum to meet the cost of the work. He appealed to Fendalton ratepayers to support the raising of the loan, and pointed out the great benefits which would accrue to residents of the outer areas if the sewerage system were, extended. Dr. Telford, District Health Officer, Mr H. Holland, and Mr H. J. Otley also addressed the meeting. _ At the conclusion of the meeting those present decided to strongly urge the Fendalton ratepayers to endeavour to the best of their ability to have the loan carried. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the speakers. | To-night a similar meeting will be held in the Woolston school.
