Owing to the wet weather, it has been decided to postpone the sixth grado end school boy competition matches, which wore to have been played to-day,
ASSOCIATION. XINWOOD CLUB. The following will represent Linwood against Villa, at Hagley Park, at 2.30 p.m. to-day:—T. Kelson, L. Odering. P. Tanner, T.- Ronan, L. Graham, B. Dorbidge, A. Tanner, E. Miles, P. Atkinson,' J. Bird, A. Wilder. sonnyside v. nomads. The consummation of the hopes of many ardent followers of tho Association game will bo realised in the meeting of Canterbury's premier teams, Sunnyside and Nomads, at English Park to-day. The game should produce football of a particularly high standard for, in every department there is no flaw discornable in either team. Combination and control have been tf.iita of ploy that have invariably been employed in the contestants' club matches, and it is their general all-round ability which has been responsible in placing tho tea«i3 in tho distinctive poaition they hold in the championship. Each has been keyed up to a high state of perfection in physicalfitness and stamina by assiduous training, and these are qualities which will be tested to the limit in tho contest of to-day. Nothing will bo wanting in _ spectacular effect, for each player is an artist in his own particular department. Footcraft and speed in attack with the thrilling moments near goal offered by the opportunist will give an added zest to the game from a spectator's viewpoint, and the entire ninety minutes' play should be chock-full of exciting incident. The kick-off is timed for 2.30 p.m., and as this match will decide the championship a record gate is anticipated.
