CLAY PIGEON MATCH.

Teams from tho Christchurch, Gprinjjston, and Rangiora Gun Clubs met at the grounds of the ChristcliuroU Gun Club, Hornby, on Saturday afternoon, to shoot for tha cup presented to the South Island Gun Clubs by the Colonial Ammunition Company. Conditions generally were very much against good scores, as the strong wind and heavy rain made most of the targets extremely difficult, and, all things considered, the average scores showing some excellent shooting. The conditions for the C.A.C. Cup competition are: Seven men per team, at 21 clay pigeons, all shooters to shoot fl- tha 16yds mark. The match, on Saturday was very evenly contested, and, up to the last round or two, the scores of the two leading teams were very often even. Following aro the scores: — Christchurch Gun Club—T. Potts 18, J. Potts 18, D. i\ Donnehy 18, E. Hammond 18, A. Turner 15, F. Truscott 12, 0. Truscott 12; total, 111. Sprinestou Gun Club —T. Kiniber 00, J. Simpson IS, J. R. Tyson 17, N. Powell 14,, 8. Henderson 14, J. Everest 13, S. Bennett 12; total, 108, Banglora Gun Club—J. Matthews 18, J. Hickenbottom 16, R. Giles 10, O. Nelmes 15, G. Bruere 15, A. Pvestney 14, L.. Kerr 12; total. 106. A six-bird clay pigeon sweep followed the cup competition, and was divided by T. Potts, A. Turner, and T. Kimbor, who scored the possible number of breaks. A five-bird live pigeon sweep was divided by R. S. Taylor and J. Evereßt, who both grassed all their birds. Afternoon tea was dispensed at the club house. Mr S. Neato acted as referee, and Mr G. N Onnandy was at the score board.
