BRITISH INCOME-TAX REFUNDS.
xo ths xoitob of "tkx niss."'\ Sir, —This subject Has created a considerable amount of interest, , and though it is three years since the right to claim refunds was extended by the British Government to non-resident British subjects, yet owing to the singular nature of our company taxation and the lack of knowledge of the British system, the significance of this concession has not hitherto been realised by shareholders on local registers of our British-New Zealand companies and banks, by. whom, in the aggregate, a very considerable sum can be claimed. Dividend counterfoils issued here with tax free dividends do not state fhe rate of British tax paid the company, as is done in Great Britain. —Yours, etc., H. H. SYSES. Dunedin, April 26th.
