ENLARGEMENT OF COLLEGE HOUSE.
TO THJI *MTO» Of "TH« MSS." Sir,— l sincerely hope that Canon Wilford's appeal for the enlargement of College iiouse will not fall on deaf ears. lam an old student of the House myself, and can speak with great appreciation' of its work in connexion witii ihe University, and of the happy an;t profitable years 1 spent tliere. J* has eviuentiy iuet a demand, lor, except during the war, wnen, to its honour, very' iew students were there, it has always been fu»i, and the demand for accommodation has always exceeded the supply. At present there are forty students there, as against twelve in my day, and the additional accommodation is overtaxed. The House has in it all the makings of a fine resi-i deutial college, and an asset to the University if the necessary accommodation is forthcoming. Failing that; it will have to be added to the list of "lost opportunities." Let us hope that the Church of England will realise the great opportunity put before her, and rise to the occasion.—Yours, etc., T.
