LINER WRECKED.
♦ CAPE TOWN, April 26. In response to an S.O.S. call from the Portuguese liner Mossamedes (4615 tons), homeward bound, which went ashore at Cape Frio, the steamer Port Victor proceeded to the scene, and found the Mossamedes deserted and the boats gone. There was no sign of the crew or passengers, numbering 237. The Port Victor searched for thirty miles up the coast, without result. Other ships are engaged in searching.
