THE RUHR.
-—■s GERMAN RESISTANCE. A CHARGE RIDICULED. iBY CABLE—Pr.ESS ASSOCIATION - CO?VRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIA!? AXD ;;.2. CABLE ASSOCIA.TIOH.) (Received April 27th. 8.5 p.m.) LONDON. April 27. The money market ridicules the charges of the "Temps" that it is financing the German resistance in the Ruhr, pointing out British co.d owners are legitimately trading. There eerininly is no ill-will with France. Germany docs not receive any special favour. She lar.ely secured the wherewithal to pay for the coal through shutting doivu many imports. In other words, she found ordinary working balances here, sufficient to pay the- cost of the exceptionally large coal purchases, thus ti:c operations were done more or less on a cash basis by the utilisation of German balances abroad. Moreover, the cessation of the reparation payment following the R,uhr crisis itself tended to increase Germany's free balance.
Cardiff exporters say they have refuse'd to give Germany credit, whereas credit is given to France and Italy.
