TEMUKA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Temuka and Geraldine A. and P. Association was held iu th<* Fire Brigade Rooms, Temuka, on Tuesday. There were present — Messrs J. A. Patterson "(president;, G. W. Armitage, R. Maddren, G. Ward, M. H. MoLeod, A. Shaw, F. W. Tarbotton, A. Reid, H. M. Vernall, J. C. Bisdee, L. A. N. Nicholas and the secretary, Mr W. i'\ Lvans. Communications were received from the following, advising that tneir tsorvices as judges at the Aatiuciat/ion/s recent sliow were given gratis: —Mesdarnes J. Mcl»eod and J. Crombie, Messrs l'\ i'l'amp ton (Ashburton), ilu liter Morris (Winciunore), K W. Roberts (Auama), (J. a. Liailard (lticcarton), it. laser (Albury), J. McKay (Ashburton), A. B. Annand, J. Wadilell, J. McDonald and J. McKeman (Timaru). On the motion of Messrs J. Patterson and G. Ward, hearty votes of thanks were passed to all judges for gratuitous services. The secretary reported that he had been unable to obtain ribbon suitable for champion awards in time for fhe recent show, and in accordance with suggestions, he liad enquired whetter winners of champion awards would prefer ribbons or miniature silver cups. In .every case winners had replied in favour of miniature cups. It was resolved on the motion of Messrs H. M. Verrall and G. Ward, that the president and secretary secure and distribute suitable cups. A letter was received from the Otago A. and P. Association requesting the committee's opinion regarding the advisability of holding another conference this year. On the motion of Messrs M. H. MoLeod and A. Shaw it was resolved that a conference be approved and that the president and secretary be appointed delegates to represent this Association. On the suggestion of the secretary, it was agreed that "The Universal Control of Side-shows" be a remit to the proposed conference. The secretary submitted a statement of receipts and expenditure in connexion with tlie Association's recent show. The total receipts amounted to £555 lGs, and expenditure £416 17s 2d, leaving a balance of £l3B 18s lOd profit on the show. This constituted a record in the history of tne Association, and was substantially in excess of the previous best. On the motion of Mr G. W. Armitage, it was agreed that the statement be approved and the accounts therein contained be passed for payment. The president reported that the approximate cost of new cattle pens was £9O and the ladies' convenience £23 15s.

The following new members were elected: —Messrs A. Scott (Hilton), D. Pcarce, care B. R' H. Trinp, Timaru, and C. A. Chester, Clandeboye.
