TURKISH ELECTIONS.
WALK-OVER IN SIGHT,
(BT CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIOHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
CONSTANTINOPLE, April-15,
The elections seem likely to result in a complete walk-over for Government candidates. So far, not a single Opposition candidate lias, appeared. On the contrary, the People's Party w overwhelmed with applications by would-be candidates, many belonging to the late Opposition and the Party of Union and Progress. But the Government is taking no chances, especially at Constantinople, which- is considered Buspect. Consequently, all the leading Nationalists, including Mustapha Kemal Pasha, are standing at Constantinople, in order to prevent the Unionists from scoring there.
