CASUALTIES.
Koy G'osgrove and Colin Arnolt, two small boys, whose ages are about 51 years, on their way to school yesterday were run over by a motor-car about ono o'clock in nigli street, Rangiora. The former was rather seriously hurt, and was removed to the Broeklehurst Private Hospital. Tho boys were playing, and did not notice the car, which was travelling very slowly. At the inquest touching on the death of John Bell, who was killed at the -U.'.ngatawai-:ti bridge on Fridav tho evidence showed that deceased"' was stripping the casing oft a green concrete pier, wlm the pier collapsed. Deceased was buried under the concrete in a space between the easing ho,ding the bank and that holding the pier. The pier was put into potion only the. da y> pnor to the amdenr. Hie opinion ot witnesses was that th o earthquake the s anie evening damaged it to such an extent as to cause it lO coilapse. The coroner returned a verdict that death was caused through a tracture of the skull.
