CHRISTCHURCH CELTIC CLUB.
After being l closed Sown for a period of five months, the Christchurch Celtio Club re-opened with a general meeting and reunion of members and friends in the Hibernian Hall. The president, Mr J. Orafiandiy, presided over on attendance of 70 members.
The secretary's report of the work don© by the executive during the vacation, which included tho appointment of an Introduction Committee, was received. One new member was elected and eleven candidates were nominated for election at the next meeting. After the business hat l bees dealt with, a programme of musical and elocutionary items was rendered by the following: Misses E. Pearco, E. Carney, D. Forsyth* A. Greenlees, Mr and Missea Carols, and 1 *tr Casey. All the performers responded to encores.
It was decided to hold the next faceting on May Ist, when nominations will be received. for the election of officers at the annual meeting; the meeting to be followed by a short euchre party and dance by members and their friends.
The president, in welcoming back the members, both new and' old, oppressed the desire that members would not find it too much trouble, to attend the meetings, as wag the case last season. Supper served by the ladies terminated a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.
