TRINITY CHURCH.
Tha harvest thanksgiving services were held on Sunday last, and continued on Monday evening in the new social hall. The Sunday services were conducted by the Rev. H. J. Hufiadine, an I an augmented choir under Mr R. S. Kogers contributed special music. On Monday a social was held, at which there was a good attendance. During the evening Mr A. Dey heid a Dutch auction, to dispose of the produce sent for the festival, and q'uite a merry half-hour was spent, the whole being disposed of. The following contributed items: —Pianoforte ealo, Mr W. Baker; songs, Miss Throp, Miss Eisie Boot, Mrs Smith, and Mr Fawcett; recitation, Mr A. Dey. During the evening Mr E. W. Marriott, who has just returned from an extended trip through. England and America, gave a very interesting and instructive address. Refreshments were dispensed by the Ladies' Guild. The following acted as accompanists:—Mrs Hargreaves, Miss Smith, and Mr,R<igers. The pastor said that he couid not let* the evening come to a close without drawing their attention to their first formal gathering in the new social hall. He felt sure one and alt would be delighted with the excellent results obtained. The room wcnld provide for their wants for some time to come. Votes of thanks were passed to all who had helped to make such a success of the harvest festival of 1923. On Wednesday evening the monthly church meeting was held. Mr G. H. Hayley read the monthly statement of accounts. It was reported that several slight alterations to the specifications of the organ contract had been made and Lpproved. The Works Committee reported on the progress of the work in connexion with the various alterations to the church buildings. .The resignation of Mr R. S. Rogers, organist, was accepted with regret, to take effect from April Ist. It was agreed to accept the services of Mr L. Rickard -until a permanent organist is appointed. Votes of condolence w«re passed, members standing, to the family of the late Rev. F. Warner (Auckland), and to Mir Walter Wilkinson, church secretary, in the death of his mother. A letter of sympathy was instructed .to be sent -to Miss I|eaven in her continued illness.
