—-—♦ At the children's Christmas tnse function, in connexion with the Rid&elv Lodge I 0 O F there were"2oo children 'and then, 'parent! present on each of the two evenings. The hall was artistically decorated with evergreens and coloured lights. A large Chjiistmas tree. waa laden with toys and dozens, of balloons. Father Christmas made his appearance n> ttio top of a huge dummy ch&ney i erected for the purpose. He then descended and came out of the fireplace, much to the enjoyment of the youngsters, Every child received a, gift. After the ceremony the children paraded round the hall, and each received a basket of sweets, a balloon, an ice cream, and soft dunk*. Mrs Ella's Orchestra supplied suitable music.
