ENGLISH CAVE-DWELLERS.

PLIGHT OF UNEMPLOYED. LONDON, ■ November 28. A verdict of "accidental death" from scurvy and exposure was returned at an inquest on an unemployed elderly labourer, who was found dying in a cave at Newbiggen, Northumberland, where he had lived for six weeks. A miner testified that he also was a cave-dweller, because he was unable to get a house. The police said that there were many such cases in the district. The coroner said it was most deplorable to find people living in England "like wild beasts."
