The meanness of some people when they receive lost property was experienced by an office boy in a Scottish town on one occasion (says the Auckland "Star")- In cashill g a cheque for £2O, he asked the teller to give 'him £2 of silver. When he got back toiithe office he found he had £22, the teller apparently not .having, deducttwo notes from the bundle. An older clerk advised the lad to pocket the notes as tellers would never adhut'an, error. Fortunately for the boy's peace of miud he argued that if that were so there would harm in returning to the bank, and -a; least claimed: "Why didn't you before you left the baukP
