AQUATICS.
CHEISTOHTJRCH SAILING CLUB. The Chxistchuroh Sailing and Power Boat Club held two races on Saturday at Redcliffs, the races being the first held this eeaaon for points in the cup contests. Six yachts went to the starting; line in the Tace lor the "B" class, 18-footers. The race was started from the Annie Hill to the Heathcote buoy, return to tripod, and then to the Avon buoy. From here a lead back to the clubhouse finished the course. On the run to Heathcote buoy Ripple led, with Kiwi, Cordelia, Tui, and Ariti following. After turning the Heathcote buoy Cordelia gradually overhauled the leaders, and held the lead till the finish. The second race was for the "C" class, 14foot boats, oven the same course as the 18fooftkskss. Naomi and Lapwing led a field of twelve yachts, followed iby Breeze, the remainder following some distance behind. On the beat to the tripod, Sea Mew and Sea Pup gradually overhauled Lapwing. Naomi still hell her lead to the finish. The following were the results:— B Class—Ripple (Bmin), R. Griffen, 1; Kiwi (tain), J'. Stanley, 2; Cordelia (eor), C. E. Allen, 3. C Class—Spray (smin), D. King, 1: EuTeJca (6Jmin), J. 2; Lapwing (2min), F. Pidgeon, 8.
AKABOA BEGAT7A. .At a meeting held at Akaroa on Saturday night to go into the question of selecting a date on which to hold the annual regatta, a recommendation was received from the Canterbury Rowing Association that the regatta should not be held, as was the case last fixture, on New Year's Day, as this date would dash with that of the championship regatt» to be held at Blufi. It "was decidedi to hold the Akaroa Regatta on December 16th.
