THE HOLIDAY.

-' ' ♦ FAVOUBED B7 FINE WEATHER. /', ' Show Day, 1922, was marked by pleasant weather, as a result of which thousands of people were able to enjoy themselves. The weather was warm air though cloudy, and there was practically no wind, and consequently no disagreeable dust to interfere with one's pleasure. Cathedral square presented a busy scene in the morning and early forenoon with its thousands of summerclad holiday-makers, most of whom boarded trams and taxis for the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show at Addington, and for the trotting meeting on tho adjoining ground, the traffic being estimated as being quite up to that of last year. Numbers of people, accompanied by young children, also went to the beaches and the Cashmere Hills. The railways were also availed of to a considerable extent by pleasureseekers, the Addington line of course being the most liberally patronised. In the evening there were large holiday audiences at the Olympia Motor Show and various houses of amusement.
