On Tuesday evening, in response to a- request, Mr B. Riley, foreman of works under the Board of Education, attended a meeting of the Pliilhpstown School Committee. In presenting Mr Riley with an excellent enlarged photograph of the new school, handsomely framed, the chairman (Sir A. L. Wilkinson) stated that the splendid building was a credit to Mr Riley. During the period of erection, eighteen months, the committee had been closely associated with Mr Riley, and always found him courteous and' witling to consider any proposals made, and it was the committee's hope that he would be longspared to look upon the completed work, and that the photograph, would 1 remind him of the appreciation of tho committee. These remarks were heartily endorsed by other members of the committee. In expressing his thanks for the photograph, Mr Riley said the district was to be congratulated on having an excellent chairman and committee to take such, a practical interest in the school. The building was spleneat improvement on the old style. Ho Eoped at 'an early date to get to work remodelling the old school, and when that was done, the district would have modern schools for infanta and older scholars.
