ELLESMERE GUN CLUB.
On Wednesday afternoon the EHesmere Gun Club held a £SO carnival shoot at olaye, in a paddock at LeestOn, kindly lent by. Mr W. H. Jackman. The weather was fine, though windy, and the- conditions fairly favourable for shooting. There were 21 competitors, shooters coming from as far distant as Timaru, Willowbridge, and Christchurch. The conditions were 15 birds, three misses out. The winner was J. Simpson (Christchurck), who shot all 15 birds. '■ J. "Winchester (Irwell), B. E. Mcllwriok (Timaru), F. G. Frampton (Brookside), T. Kimbe-r. (Springston), and W. R. Grant (Willowbridge), tied for second place and divided the second and third money. Mr W. R. Donald was handicap?** and referee, and the first prize money was £3O.
