SOCIAL ENGAGEMENTS. (rBOV OCB OWN CORRESPONDENT.) » LONDON, July 2\. Sir James Allen has been having a very busy week, as is natural towards the close of the London season. Last Saturday the High Commissioner, with Lady Allen and Miss Allen, went down to the Bisley meeting at the invitation of the Uouncil, and they were the guests of General O. Winter. They were shown all roinid the cmb roms and they witnessed some of the snooting. Sir James was greatly interested in all the elaborate arrangements for the great meeting. To-morrow he and Lady Allen are lunching with Lord Ch'eylesmore"at their residence near Guildford. Lord Cheylesmore is an ex-chairman of the National Rifle Association. Sir James and Lady Allen were among the guests at the musir.il reception given by Princess Mary (Viscount ess Lascelles) and Viscount Lascelles, at Chesterfield House this week. This afternoon they are at the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham PahceLate r Sir Jnmes. at the invitntion of Mr Havelock Wilson, is to be the guest of the Sailors and Firemen's Union at their annual dinner. From there he is to join Lndy Allen and go on to the reception being given by the Duke off Sutherland.
