AQUATICS.
There is a possibility of a crew of Australian oarsmen visiting New Zealand this season. Speaking at the annual meeting of tne atar .Boating CiUb at We.iingtou on rriday evening, Hr A. D. Bayrteld, hon. secretary of the New Zealand Rowing Association, said that an invitation had been extended to Australian oarsmen to compete at New Zealand regattas for the past two Beasons, and it was probable that the invitation would be repeated this season. The Wanganui Association had guaranteed an Australian crew £SO to come to New Zealand, but the offer had not been accepted. The dirncijty which had existed some time previously over the definition of the Australian amateur status as compared with the New Zealand definition had now been sett.ed, and he could See no difficulty in that direction preventing the proposed visit. It was unanimously refclvea that the "Wellington Bowing Association should urge the New Zealand Rowing Association to make- every effort towards bring-1 ing an Australian crew of oarsmen to compete in New Zealand this season.
