CANTERBURY JUSTICES' ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the executive of the Canferbury Justices Association was field last night. Present—Mr H: Holland (president), in the chair, and Messrs H. •H. Smith, A. Williams, C. H. Gilby, G. E. Good, C. W. Hervey, and J. B. Brunt (secretary). Correspondence was read from the Minister of Justice regarding the appointment justices, and from Messrs C. E. and F. C. J. Beliringer, of New Plymouth, jißiting for information, it being proposed vo form a Justices Association in that town. The president stated that full information had been supplied. . . The Honorary Justices Association, Wellington, wrote enclosing the report of their first annual meeting. Mr Herbert Langford, Richmond, Nelson, wrote resigning his seat on the executive, he having left Christchurch. The resignation' was accepted with regret. Three new members were elected, bringing the membership up to 208. It was decided to hold the next members social on June 3rd (King's Birthday), and it was stated that Mr J. J. Dougall had promised to give an address on the occasion. The arranging of a programme was felt in the hands of the secretary.
