NEW ZEALAND EXECUTIVE,

A meeting of the executive ol the New Zealand Hockey Association was held on Monday. The following were present— Messrs H. S. J. Goodman (chairman), W. Simpson, H. Gracie, G. W. Ford, C. Bellamy, and P. N. Quartermain (secretary). In connexion with the Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial Fund for the blind it was to ask each affiliated Association to hoid a benefit match and remit the proceeds to the Hew Zealand Association. • Challenges were received • from Poverty Bay and V.'airarapa for the Nordon. Cup. It was decided' that the whole, of the executive constitute the Shield Committee for the present year. The inter-island match will be played during the latter half cf July this year, and th« ■ Kcisin Association is being communicated with to ascertain whether they_ aro prepared to control the game at . Nelson. Messrs Simpson, Bellamy, Goodman, and Quartermain have bceii appointed a subcommittee to arrange the fixture. It is proposed to select the Newt Zealand team to play New South Wales from the inter-islana teams. . A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Gracie, Ford, and Quartermain, was elected to deal with the proposed visit of a New South Wales representative team for a tour of the Dominion for three weeks during August. It was decided to arrange a conference cf referees at Wellington on' June 13th to re-form the New Zealand Hockey Referees' Association. Messrs Ford and Simpson wero appointed a sub-committee to deal with the matter. '' _ The Otago Association was granted permission to conduct a South Island tournament this vear. . ' _ As "a result of an. enquiry from JNelson it was decided to ask Auckland whether its representative team would tour with the Shield this season.
