CITIZENS' BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Ohristohurch Citizen's Benevolent Association was held yesterday morning, Or. J. A. Flesher (Deputy-Mayor) presiding. Others present were MeTsdanies Biltctiffe, Foster, Watson,' Ward, Sinter Edith, Sister Agnes, Sister Grace, Hiss Cardale, and the Rev. F. Rule. The financial statement showed that the receipts for the past year had totalled £391 9s sd, and the expenditure £169 10s, leaving £221 19s fid in band. \ Mr Rule said the committee intended, in future to spend more readily tlian had' been the practice in the ■ past. Formerly the idea was to nurse the capital fund in order that «in time a sufficient income might be provided, to pay for a permanent social worker> but it had since been decided to apply all income to relieve cases of distress. Officers were elected as follows: Secretary, Sister Grace r treasurer. Rev. F. Rule; Coal and Blanket Committee, the Mayor, Rev. F. Rule, Alessrs P. Revel], Fawcett; H. Holland, Mesdames Biltcline. Speirs, Watson, Green, Foster, McMorran, Ward, Malcolm Sisters Edith, Ruth arid Agnes, ondJVliss Cardale. : ■ ■ ' Mr Rule was appointed chairman, of the Coal and Blanket Committee, and Sister Grace secretary.
