NEW COAL SEAM.
DISCOVERY NEAR BRTWNBRTOX. (spectat- to "thb roKss.") GREYMOUTH> April 11. On Monday.,.evening, coal waa sttuck in /the Kiwi shaft near Brunn<?rton At a depth of 114 feet. Boring operations have been in progress for some month*. A sample of tho coal inspected tc--day was of good hard quality. Th e seam which is expected be about 12 feet Jjlnck, is on the old Tynesijdo lease, and is a continuation of the well-known Bninner scam. The discovery will give a fillip to mining in the district..end. it is Wed to provide work for 100 men when the seam is opened out.
