CANTERBURY RUGBY LEAGUE. AN3ITJAL MEETING. The annua', meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League was held on Saturday evening, Mr A. E. Hooper presiding over a large attendance. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, details of which have already been published, the chairman 6aid that the past season had' been one of the finest seaeons financially that the Leslie had ever had. More teams would be entering during the coming year, and more referees would be wanted, and consequently the help of all old plavers in that directic.ll would be welcomed. "Underhand" barracking was commented upon by Mr Hooper in strong terms, and he deprecated the use oi bad language by supporters of the game. He remarked that they could get on quite well without such "supporters." The one aim oi the League was to keep the game clean, as far as both' the players end the spectators were concerned. As far as Lancaster Park was concerned, it was nroposcd to erect a Memorial Gate there, and Mr Hooper asked that all Lmigu? supporters would sink all feeling and behave as "sports," giving all that, they could to tin Memorial Gate Fund, as tile gate was to commemorate all tho Canterbury sportsmen who had given their lives for their corrtry. As far ae the League was concerned, Lancaster Park had not been at their disposal, but the many games in tho several parks had given a groat amount to help on the o-ame. It was decided to leave over the election of a selection committee until the next general meeting of delegates, and that for the various sub-committees until the first meeting of the executive.

The application of the Ouruhia Club for affiliation was granted, and the club colours approved. It was decided that the secretary obtain further particulars in leference to the application received fiom the Heathcole Valley Club for affiliation, prior to the first nvrtine: of the executive.

Mr T. Kirton, was elected the League's representntiv>. to tho Dominion Conference at Wellington at Kastpr. A letter from Mr G. Dobbs, asking for support of a. combineo sports programme to be issued wag received, and it was dscided to reoucst Mr Dobbs to attend the next executive meeting; in reference to the matter. A donation wis mac l * to the local Progress League, And the election of a representative was deferred Until the' next meeting. An application for the removal of disqualification was received and referred bi. the executive, for consideration at the nex> meeting. It was decided to open the eeason on April p-2nd and to close entries for all competitions on April Bth. A vote of tha T 'ks Tnd appreciation was accorded to Mr Hesellrurst, lot' of the New South Wales Rugby League Referees' Association, for his sr.pport. It was decided that the annual meeting of the referees be held on Saturday next. On the motion of the chairman, a vote of appreciation was accorded to the Press. PARNASSUS CLTJB. The annual meeting of the Parnassus Football Club was held last week, Mr W. A. Macfariane presiaing over a. fair attendanceof members.
