SUMMER SHOW. Tho annual Summer Show of (bo Christchurch Canary and Cage Bird Club waa h«d on Saturday. The entries woro tho lurgtet for some time, oao hundred binljt being exhibited. A number of birds wers sunt uo from Dunwlin. There was fc very flno ©hewing of tho Norwich variety, and 6 g r< . a (, im . provemeut in both bulla cud yellows v?ns noticed. Mr C. Penny won the Peace Shield for tho most points gained, and also tho Norwich Cup, with a bird that excelled in type, head, and carriage, The runnar-up was a buff variegated belonging to Mr G. Goodwin. In tho novice classes there was keen, competition, and an excellent display, but a number of good young birdu wer® slightly out of condition. The bufis were tho best all-round class over exhibited at the show, and tho judge had difficulty in awarding tho prizes. The Yorkshire section had a much larger entry than last year, and it embraced all colours. Tho winner of the Yorkshire Cup was also ife C. Denny, with a bird of .good colour, typo, and condition. Tho samo exhibitor also won tho special prize in tho same section. Tho cinnamon -variety, which had practically died out, was well repicscntcd. Mr G. H. Jonea acted aa judge. The BPcretary, Mr G. Goodwin, ably managed all the arrangements. Following is tho pri&o list:
