SHIET WORKERS' CLAIMS. To consider the claims of the. shirt, white, and-silk, workers' section of the Christchurch/ Tailoresses, Cutters, Pressors, and other clothing Trade Employees' Union, a Conciliation Council sat yesterday. Mr W. H. Hazger, Conciliation Commissioner, presided, and Messrs J. I». Oake.i, F. B. Creswell sat as assessors for the Mr x. Cooper as agent, aivJ Aliesea K: McJiullon and B. Campbell, und Mr i\ It. Overtime shall be paid at the rate of tiine and a half for the first three hours, and double time afterwards. When less than 24 hours' notice i» given of overtime Is 6d shall be paid for tea money. The' minimum wag© for $ swond-class cut* ter shall be £4 0s 8d per week (Is lOd an hour), for a stock cuttfer and trimmer £3 lfs (Is. 9d), far the examiner in charge of finishing l-oom £3 17s (is Od). A bonus of 8d an hour shall paid in addition. Apprentices to cutting and trimming shall eerve five years and be paid as fpllows:— "First six months £1 per week, second £1 3a, third' £1 6s, fourth £1 9s, fifth £1 12s, sixth #1 13s, seventh £2, eighth £2 ss, ninth £2 10s, tenth £2 15s. "So counter proposals were filed by the employers. ~ . All points were agreed to except the matter of wages, which, in view ot tho recent pronouncement of his Honour Mr Justice ftrazer that adjustments of bonuses wbuld prdbably be made next month, were referred to the Arbitration Court for settlement.
