SUNDAY EVENING CONCERT.
The Australasian champion cornetist, Mr Stender, is making a special trip to ChristchuTch to fill' an engagement to plav at the grand promenade concert in the King Ed L ward- Barracks on Sunday evening. Mr R. T Estall, conductor of the Woolston Band, urges all bandsmen and every lover of music, not on any account to miss tins opportunity of hearing an exceptionally talented artist. Mr Stender is a young man, who has won the Australian cornet championship three years > succession, ™d the New Zealand championship at the Wellington contests last week. Americans rea lse the value of music, and are making a b d for the great' musicians of the world to-»iay, and it £ understood that Mr Stender has received a very attractive offer from the States. Mr Stender will, play several solos with the Woolston Band, which will also contribute several, of their best items. The total profits of concert are for initiate ing the music in schools movement, under the direction of Mr R. B. Owen.
