STATE COAL MINERS' DISPUTE.
(special to "tob PBESS.") GKEYMOUTH, February 28. A sitting of the Conciliation Council presided over by Mr W. Newton (Conciliation Commissioner) will be held at Greymouth to-morrow for the purpose of endeavouring to reach an agreement in the dispute between the State Miners Union and the Mines Department. Failing a settlement the pomts in dispute will be referred to the Arbitration Court which sits at Greymouth on March 6th.
The State miners decision to appear before the Conciliation Council and the Arbitration Court is contrary, to the advice of the Executive of the Miners' Federation and to the attitude of all other Dominion mining unions, who have refused to recognise the Arbitration Court.
