LOYAL BENEVOLENT LODGE. The meeting of tho Loyal Benevolent Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U.,hsld on Monday evening at St. Matthew's Schoolroom, St, Albans, was well attended. N.G. Bro. Osborne presided. On Monday evening last, in the Classics Lecture Boom, Canterbury College, Mr W. D. Andrew*, College .Librarian, gave an address on "The Stor* of the Odyssey" before a- good Attorn*-" • oi members of the 'Ohrietohurch Centre' of che Classical. Association. The .speaker gave an interesting account of the great Greek epip, and also traced its influenae on subsequent literature, particularly on Dante's poems.

WOOLSTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE. J At tie monthly meeting of the Woolston' 'School Committee, there wore present Messrs D. House (chairman), J. C. Gilbert end Jones, Mesdaines Hill, Robinson, and Gilbert (secretary). A motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr and Mrs G. 8. WhitO; members standing. < Mr White had been b member of the committee for twelve years.
