The newspapers are calling attention to the issue by the Australian Labour Party of bonds towards a fund for assisting the City Labour Aldermen to secure their return at the noxt municipal elections; . Th 6 bonds are valued at £l, 10s, and 6s respectively. The City Council's employees are expected to take them Up according to their rates of pay. A circular accompanying the bonds femphaaises that most of the concessions enjoyed by the Council's employees were secured by the Labour Aldermen, and if they are not returned again, the Concessions will be withdrawn. Some £2OOO of the' £SOOO expected has been already paid, but it is understood that a number of the employees are opposed to what they regard as a forced levy.
