CROWNING CEREMONY.
ST. ALBANS CARNIVAL. Th? crowning ceremony, in connexion with the St. Albans Queen Carnival was held in the Choral Hall last night. The carnival .is in, aid o! tho funds of the St. Albans Scb.iol, and bo far vit ' has been very successful, M £9OO has been raised. The first half of lh» programme, which ia to be repeated next Monday nigflil, . took the form of various excellent items hy -ehiMren. One snfcihl feature was the einging of "Kail, Smiling Morn" by a ■ juvenile choir. The . second half was confined ,to the ceremony. .The scheme has been on foot for five months, olid the-succeas which:greeted it lust night Wily justified tho effort* of tho work'era.
