Two thousand seven hundred men and women delegates from forty nationalities, including official representatives from Belgtam, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Saxony,: Ukraine, and Jugoslavia, are attending, the Esperanto conference. Dr. Nitobe, the National League < representative, said that. no international subject was more important than an international language. The abolition of war. was their chief objective. He anticipated a period when peace-Seekers of all nations would find a common language. German Esperantists were particularly warmly welcomed, the British delegates gathering at. the station and cheering them. The national costumes ball formed a most impresisve* and picturesque scene.
