A Belgrade message says 53 Communist members of the Jug6-Slav Parliament have been arrested.
The Afghan Mission has reached London. Prospects, of the completion of a treaty are brighter, consequent on the Greek victories in Asia Minor.
The Hamburg correspondent of the "Morning Post" says ex-Captain Czernkak, a Hungarian aviator, has been arrested on a charge of murdering Count Tisza.
It is believed that since the operation of the Russian trade agreement, Russian precious stones to the value of £2,000,000 have been marketed in London.
The National Savings Committee reports that £45,000,000 worth of certificates were sold in 1920, compared With £79,000,000 in 1919. The total sales Eince the inauguration of the scheme in 1916 amount to £341,000,000, and the total repayments to £61,000,000,' including £31,000,000 |in 1920.
According to a message from Delhi, all the British officers employed in Northern Persia have been dismissed, with six months' pay, and have left. Although he has now denounced the Anglo-Persian agreement, the Premier', Prince Ferouz, was violently attacked in the Mejliss for the part he played in its formation, and an unsuccessful effort was made to unseat him. Mr T. Wintringham, Liberal member for Louth, died suddenly while sifting in the reading ro'om of the House of Commons. The House immediately adjourned. Mr Wintringham complainthat he felt unwell when he arrived at the House, but attended the sitting and put a couple of questions in the Chamber. At eiglff o'clock he ordered a meal, which he was awaiting when he < Medical members'of the House of Commons tried heart massage without avail. Deceased was a timber merchant and agriculturist.
