The Canterbury awimming team proceeaina to the championships at Dunedin brolte their journey ot Oamaru tct-day, and participated* in- a carnival. '►««.. AV. -Simea (12scc) won tha 60 Tarda Inter-olub Handicap, Misa Shand (ssec) being '"pred'. Truscott (3sec) won the Breast Stroke Raco from L. HiU <«*>•,, L Annand won- tho dire, Mis»e» Shani *nd" Briated being equal for «oond plac*. Misa Bristed (4eec) won the Dadies' Interclub 50 Yards from tho scratch girl <Misa Sband), and also tirashed Eccoud in the 21 Yard* Dadiea'Eace. . K. Batohelor gave an eahibition of backstroke swimming. ~,..__.. A relay race resulted* in O. Orchard, A. Boon, A. Dalton, end L. Claikaon winning from scratch. ~..., Tha visitors *!» gave an eKhibition of w»ter polo, and a fancy diving display, their efforts being greatly appreciated by tho Oamaru public. The Canterbury team, which was entertained et lunchow and tea> left by the second express for Dunedin.
