PRINCELY GIFTS. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, February 1. It is announced that Mr John D. Rockefeller, during the past year, donated 70,000,000 dollars, besides his usual appropriations, to the General Education Board to promote education in the United States without distinction as to raoe, sex, or creed. A sum of 50,000,000 dollars will be devoted to assist the colleges and universities and to increase the teachers' salaries, and 20,000,000 dollars to improve medical education. ,
