EQUAL OPPORTUNITY IN PACIFIC. (By Cable—Pr«sa Association—Copyright.) (Router's Telegrama.) TOKIO, January 29. Replying to interpellations in the Diet, viscount Uchida stated that negotiations were proceeding with Great Britain to secure equal treatment for the coloured peoples in the South Pacific islands. . , The treaty clauses dealing with tne islands south of the Equator, hfe said, had not yet been interpreted. Japan favoured a policy which would ensure equal opportunity for Japanese and British, and desired t° respect the administration of the mandates south, of the Equator.
