CASUALTIES.
Three accidents have occurred at Okain's Bay during tho last few days. Mr A. Ware was thrown off his motor-cvdo and Tendered unconscious while coming down the Valley road. Mr Arn Ware of ••Connemara," while attending to the etock, left his little eon in tie yard. One of the horses becoming restivo, kicked the little follow on the forehead, the injury necessitating medical attention. tMr P. Moore was thrown by his horse slipping on the wet grass, and receiwd severe bruises to his leg. A married man named James MaeInnes, 56 years of age, residing at 426 Montreal street, was admitted to tho Hospital yesterday for an immediate operation, and was attended to by Drs. Guthrie and King. However, ho died under the annosthcttc. An inquest wSI be held at 2.15 p.m. to-day. (Tress association teleobam.) AUCKLAND, December 18. An inquest into the death of Williain McMath, who was run over by a tram nt Takapuna on the evening of December 4tft\ and died in Hospital early the next morning, was concluded before tjie Coroner, Mr McKcan, to-day. In commenting on , the case,, tho Oordher said the facts were fairly clear. The unfortunate man was ft stranger to Takapnna and did not realise he was on the tramway track until it was too late for him to get out of the way. Here was nothing to suggest negligence in any way. There seemed, however, to be room for improvement in the lifepnard used by the comrmny. The evidence showed that the lifeguard might easily become detached if one rorner struck nn object. Apparently thnt was what happened in this caee. The Coroner then returned a formal verdict on th<» lines of the medical evidence, and addeil* hat it was quite an accidental oecnir* rence. >],
