« MAGISTRATE'S COURT. Messrs W. T. LesHer and F. W. Anderson, J.P.'s, presided at tho Magistrate's Court, yesterday. Gustavo Gustavcson, a. seaman, was charpxi with having ueed obscene language in Norwich quay, also with having resisted Con-s-table Heslop whilo in tho execution of his duty, and with having assaulted Constable Hcslop. Evidence was given that tho accused, who ie a powerful man, had used the language to tho police when told to get down to his boat. When arrested lie- had fought like a wild animal, ar.d somo firemen hnd to assist the constables in making , the arrest. Tho accused was. sentenced to three rnontns' imprisonment on tho first charge, and convicted and discharged on the- other two charges. BOROUGH COUNCIL. The.jLytteHon. Borough Council met last evening , ' Present—Crs."J. T. Norton; (DeputyMayor) F. G. Norton, G. Morris, G. Whitford, M.' J. Mailer, J. Gower, J. fl. Collins, and J, R. Webb. The Department of Agriculture wrote with regard to the salary of the Dcpartment'e meat inspector, who also acts as abattoir manager for the Council.
