; » GAS SERVICE CUBTAILED. (PRESS association telegram.) GISBORNE,. November 8. Tho acute shortage of coal has now Tcached a climax, and by to-morrow ni"]it no coal will bo in stock at the gasworks. Tho manager 'has announced that supplies will bo curtailed tomorrow, and consumers must ho prepared for a total cessation of tho supply. In responso to an urgent message, tho Coal Controller states that the Karamu, -with 900 tons, leaves GreymouDh on Thursday. This means that her cargo will not bo available till noon on Monday, at tho earliest. Ib is hoped to borrow sufficient to keep the gas going at low pressure, But local stocks also are very low.
