MARRIAGE BILL.
COMMITTEE TO TAKE FUBTHER EVIDENCE. (PBES3 ASSOCIATION TELT3GRAH.) WELLINGTON, October 8. The Committee to "whom the House of Representatives referred the Marriago Act Amendment Bill, passed by the Legislative Council, met tlhis morning, and came to the following resolution: —"That, in view of tho evidence already taken, and tho full public discussion that has taken place by means of pamphlets and otherwise, the Committeo do not consider it necessary to open up tho whole question again, but if any porsons specially interested 'have not yet been heard, or if any points bearing on the Bill hare not yet been sufficiently elucidated, they arc prepared to hear evidence, briefly stated, on Tuesday, October 12th, in Parliament Buildings at 10.30 a.m.'' * The Committee also decided that these proceedings should not be open to the Press.
