THE FUNERAL,

The funeral of tlio la to Mr G. Blanch, headmaster of Christ's College, took place yesterday morning at tho Linwood Cemetery, and was an impressive ceremony, and one which was largely attended. __ A short preliminary service for tiic staff and "boys of the College was held in the College Chapel by the College «hnf lain, the Rev. S. Six prel'ccts of tho College acted as pall-hearers, and coming out ot the Cathedral the coffin was borne by 'ix old bovs, Messrs J. S. Bruges, Dcnys Ho are, Gilbert Reeves, F Robinson,, T. Totliill, and E. H. S. Hamilton -Tho service in the Cathedral was conducted by the Very Rev. Dean Carrmgton, assisted by Canon P. J. Cocks, who raid the lesson, and the Rev. Canon Muttcfl and tho Rev. S. Parr wero also in attendance. Tho Cathedral was completelv filled by the boys and friends the late headmaster. As tihe coffin was borne out -of the Cathedral, the College organist, Mr O'D. Davis, played Chopin's "Funeral March." The boys broke away from tho procession in the Square, and the cortcge proceeded to tho Lin wood Cemetery, where tine Rev. S. Parr conducted tho final ceremony. Amongst the many present were-Mr G.
