The first of the series of nursing lectures to members of the Harbour Lights Girls' Club was given by Nurse Pearce, and it proved most instructive and enjoyable. Mrs W. H. Simpson has promised to give the girls instruction at her own home iii domestic duties and cookery.

The annual hall of the staff cf Messrs T. Armstrong and Co. will be held in the Art Gallery on July 12th. The committee responsible for the arrangements comprises Mrs Ball, Misses O'Connor, Fisher, and Roiall, and Messrs Good, Brown, Lcngton, and Cook. Mr G. E. Jeffreys is ,hon. secretary.

Colgan (Duke of Orleans); most original dress, Mr Jack Darby (Flower Girl); cheapest ladies' dress, Mrs E. V. Colgan (Cabbage Tree). Miss Thompson Miss Bloy (Bon Bon), Miss Leah Johnston (Joy Bells), Mr Thomas Chalklen (Coster), and Mr Felix Trogertham (Napoleon), "were highly commended. Tho judges were Mrs Holland, Mrs Tomlinson, Mrs Neville, and Messrs IJ. Holland and F. C. Raphael. • Mrs' Holland presented the prizes.
