THE WAR MEMORIAL.
Mr George Gould has received the following telegram from Hanmer Serines from -Mr Geo. Humphreys:— "Thoroughly support your general scheme of memorial, and especially as to site. The event it commemorates will stand out through the centuries, and demands the most prominent position in the city, which is obviously Cathedral square. All CbristcTmreh visitors spoken to here are decidedly of this opinion, and desire me to express this."
